As a school, we believe one of our core values is to be charitable, especially to the needy. Irrespective of our beliefs or culture, we all live our lives by some common values: love, empathy, compassion, respect, generosity... In our daily lives, we receive blessings in many different way and we should always be thankful. Giving makes a difference in the lives of both the 'giver' and the 'receiver'.
“Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give." -Ben Carson
Below are some of the charities that the school supports
Brentwood Catholic Children's Society (BCCS) During our Christmas concerts and nativities, all monies collected after each performance is donated to the Brentwood Catholic Children Society. Last Christmas £280 was raised. |

Harvest Food Collection
During October each year, we collect tined and packet items which are forwarded to the local food bank.
Enterprise4Charity
As part of Catholic Social Teaching, the school community continues to demonstrate various values of St Oscar Romero. One of the ways it demonstrates these values is through the initiative, appropriately named ‘Enterprise4Charity’. This involves groups of children with a common charity; they decide different ways for fundraising. During the Spring term (2024), the children raised £213.50 for WWF (World Wild Fund for Nature) and in the Summer term (2024), £524.10 was raised for the Afro Caribbean Leukaemia Trust.
Samaritan's Purse (Operation Christmas Child)
Every Christmas, the school participates in this worthy initiative. Shoe boxes can either be physically or digitally put together to contain gifts for very disadvantaged children in developing countries. If the box is put together, it brought into school; all boxes will be collected and delivered to a collection centre. Information leaflets will be shared with the school during the Autumn term
